Studies is an app to help you achieve your learning goals. It’s a tool to expand your knowledge, and it doesn’t matter what it is you want to learn - medicine, law, language, history, piloting, fine art, music, martial arts - from simple day-to-day tidbits, to knowledge of life changing importance. Studies is a study card app for the serious student. I'd like to at least have a navigation sidebar, and then perhaps the 'audio', 'shuffle', etc options would be better suited to a horizontal bar at the top, with the up and down scroll buttons (if they must remain) on the right, where one would traditionally look for a scrolling option.īut really, I'll use the old flashcards until I don't have a choice.Studies is the app to help you master your studies - whatever they may be - on macOS and iOS. I feel like I have to across the room because it's so large and in my face. This looks like a mobile app, not a website not a good look for a fullsize monitor. Another problem is the amount of space it takes up. This is a shame, because I prefer scrolling rather than endlessly clicking 'down' 'down' 'down' 'up' 'down' 'down'. clicking the little blue/white progress bar (because I thought it would scroll for me) disables any of the other options on the page and prevents any actions. I'm using Firefox 18.0.1 with adblock (tried without adblock but that just gave me ads, shocker.). possibly also only definitions, don't know if that would be that useful though.ĭoesn't work well for me. make it possible to view all the "cards" with only the terms, and no definitions. starring cards to look through later - like ones you're struggling with, or that are particularly important for a test or something. if you turn audio off on a set, it "remembers" that you turned it off and stays off the next time you come back to it! all the options (audio, shuffle, term/definition/both) are much easier to see and notice on the new version if you're looking at your own set, you can edit the set from INSIDE the mode!! you can click on words to hear them again the new shuffle effect reminds me of actually shuffling a deck of cards the "shaking" effect that shuffle does now is much better than the weird spinning that happens on the traditional flashcards if you shuffle. no horizontal lines to distract visually from the words clicking on an image makes it big in a pretty lightbox i only need to use up/down instead of using both up/down and left/right arrow keys to see terms and then definitions Stuff that's really cool or a good improvement: makes this mode much more pleasant to use. And listeningdaisy - is it the audio that's bothering you? did you notice you can turn that off? i tried it with some of your recently studied sets and it seemed great!
